Application Profile
Solution: OMR and QR Code
Definition: The Claybank High School application applies variable OMR form customization and QR Code technology. OMR response bubbles, shaded boxes and background text are easily created and integrated with data within Lytrod Designers. Forms can be created and customized on-site and/or with existing workflows that are capable of print on-demand.
Business Problem Students at Claybank High School have been using generic, pre-printed OMR (“scantron”) forms the school orders months ahead of time. Testing procedures requires each student to fill out their personal information and use only the one test handed to them. They may not at any time switch, keep, or duplicate the form. To make sure each test is assigned directly to the student, the school would need to pay more to the company that pre-prints each pre-slugged customization. In addition, when the test is returned, students do not have access to the original answer sheet in order to correct their mistakes.
Business Process: Lytrod Software allows the OMR forms to be created on-site and personalized by adding student’s name and subject of test from existing student data through its Designer programs. The student name, identification number, and subject prints directly onto each form to avoid cheating. To further assist students, a QR Code, containing variable data, is embedded on the application to allow them to scan the code with their smart phone and access a web interface of the question and answer sheet.
Lytrod Software QR Code Solution
Lytrod Software enables the ability to create variable QR Codes from transactional data streams including LCDS, delimited and XML and integrate them into personalized applications including statement printing. Variable QR Codes are created in Lytrod Software Variable Design Suite by creating customized website addresses, geo coordinates or business contacts from information in the data and applying the QR Code transform. Output is in either a PDF via Xerox FreeFlow VI PDF Originator or printed output via Xerox FreeFlow VI Interpreter.
