Targeted for the graphic arts community, this product offers personalized communication design for a Xerox production print environment using database (delimited) data. GraphicArts VI Designer combines an easy-to-use application with extensive variable capability.

A graphic arts workflow is the basis of this product. GraphicArts VI Designer lets graphic artists use ANY design application, such as Quark, InDesign, Illustrator, or Word, to create images to produce VI documents in production quantities and at production speeds.

Like Lytrod’s other Designer products, GraphicArts VI Designer, offers extensive database variable capabilities, including conditional logic, variable building, data driven images, page level logic, in-line subset variable finishing, and much more.

Take full advantage of the operational flexibility and speed of Dynamic Document Construction – building data-driven, personalized documents at the moment of output, and at the rated speed of the device.

Work with large data runs, without bogging down network performance.

User defined variables
Creation of counters, field “change” comparisons, concatenated fields, variable formatting, extractions, transforms, and calculations.

Variable font formatting
Data-driven text can be formatted with kerning and Pantone, CMYK, or RGB color palettes.

CMYK and RGB image files
GraphicArts VI Designer allows the import of industry standard image formats such as PDF, EPS, TIFF, and JPEG.

Background image files
Multiple background files can be defined. Background images can be defined statically or through conditional logic.

Conditional logic support for images and text defins print images and text data-driven rules

Multi-up imposition and z-sort support allows for multi-up duplex functionality frequently required for applications such as personalized postcards. Z-sort function allows stack sizing to maintain postal sorting order in cut sheet operations. Custom multi-up positioning supports Dutch Cut imposition.

Page level logic capabilities offer sophisticated page processing. Sets of pages can be grouped for data-driven rule-based printing using a Job Set feature. Media tray calls and subset finishing features can also be conditionally/rule- based.

VIPP project containers
GraphicArts VI Designer can automatically transfer required VIPP job resources to the proper directories on a networked printer’s hard drive. This is a real time saver. Containers zip all the printer resources in one easily managed file.
