DeskTop Designer

Lytrod Software's DeskTop Designer is user-friendly variable data document design software for entry-level production printing. Sophisticated one-to-one marketing pieces and transactional/promotional statements can be easily created from either mainframe or database delimited data. The Microsoft Windows GUI interface includes wizards and drop-down menus for easy drag-and-drop data placement. The simplest personalized letter, or the most complex rule-based job, is created without any scripting. Specialized OMR drawing tools with data-driven pre-slugging create a more efficient scannable document. DeskTop Designer supports Xerox FreeFlow VI Interpreter (VIPP) Dynamic Document Construction exclusively for Xerox DocuTech/DocuPrint 65, 75, and 90; 2101, 4110, 3535, and 5252 printers. Also includes static form output in Adobe PostScript and Hewlett Packard PCL. Benefits
User defined variables Creation of counters, field “change” comparisons, concatenated fields, variable formatting, extractions, transforms, and calculations. Variable font formatting Data-driven text can be formatted with kerning and Pantone, CMYK, or RGB color palettes. Data-driven Business Graphics Pie, Line, and Bar (stacked) charts are easily created using a user/friendly wizard. Dynamic Elements Form elements created using DeskTop Designer’s drawing tools (lines, boxes, circles, paths) can be relatively positioned based upon the data. Images can also have relative placement. CMYK and RGB image files DeskTop Designer allows the import of industry standard image formats such as PDF, EPS, TIFF, and JPEG. Background image files Multiple background files can be defined. Background images can be defined statically or data-driven through conditional logic. Conditional logic support for images & text Defines print images and text through data-driven rules Variable OMR pre-slugging Enables two-pass scanned cycle to evolve into a single pass. Multi-up Imposition and z-sort Support multi-up duplex functionality frequently required for applications such as personalized postcards. Z-sort function allows stack sizing to maintain postal sorting order in cut sheet operations. Custom multi-up positioning supports Dutch Cut imposition. Page-by-page logic capabilities offer sophisticated page processing. Sets of pages or designs in Job sets for data-driven conditional/rule-based printing. Media tray calls and subset finishing features can also be conditionally based. VIPP project folders & containers DeskTop Designer can automatically transfer required VIPP job resources to the proper directories on a networked printer’s hard drive. This is a real time saver. VIPP has added support for Projects and Containers, making resource and job management even easier and more automated. Workflow DeskTop Designer fully supports the unique VIPP “Just Send the Data” workflow. Resources (font, forms, data templates, images) can be automatically transferred to networked print devices. When it’s time to print, just the raw data is sent from the data source to a Xerox FreeFlow VI Interpreter enabled engine. |
